ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Health officials are sounding the alarm on a jump in syphilis cases in newborns. Congenital syphilis happens when a mother with syphilis passes the infection on to her baby during pregnancy.“Having syphilis during your pregnancy can lead to increased risk of miscarriage, of stillbirth, of preterm birth, and also, for pregnancies that do come to term, can cause many different issues with the infant," said Brianna Samson, Director of Clinical Services at Upper Hudson Planned Parenthood. ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - Following an autopsy on Wednesday, a "suspicious death" in north St. Louis County has been updated to a homicide.Officers were called to the 12600 block of Columbia Bottom Road around 2:15 p.m. Tuesday and discovered a man's body in a grassy area near the road.Over the next several hours, detectives collected evidence and surveyed a patch of land that appeared to be burned, although it’s unknown if that’s linked to the investigation. ST. LOUIS - Wednesday brought record-breaking warmth to the St. Louis region. The daily high reached 83 degrees, breaking a record for the warmest temperature in St. Louis on Nov. 8. In-N-Out Burger is expanding to yet another state.The Southern California-based fast food chain, which recently celebrated its 75th anniversary, announced on social media Tuesday that it plans to open multiple locations in New Mexico by 2027.“We're excited to share that we will be fully in the Four Corners," In-N-Out’s president and owner Lynsi Snyder shared on Instagram and Facebook. “We can’t wait to have smiling associates serving customers quality burgers, fries and shakes in such a unique, beautiful state.”In-N-Out already has locations in Arizona, Utah and Colorado which left New Mexico as the only remaining Four Corners state without one.The new restaurants will be in Albuquerque with plans for other New Mexico locations “in the years beyond,” a press release stated.
