NEW YORK (AP) — McDonald’s has closed its U.S. offices for a few days as the company prepares to inform corporate employees about layoffs, according to a published report. The Wall Street Journal cited an internal email from the Chicago fast-food giant saying U.S. corporate staff and some employees overseas should work from home while the company notifies people of their job status. The report said McDonald’s would inform its employees this week about staffing decisions that are part of a broad restructuring of the company announced earlier. Aurora police are looking for leads after a 36-year-old woman was shot to death near a grocery store in Aurora on Saturday.Police are hoping anyone who lives near the scene of the crime near the intersection of East 6th Avenue and North Del Mar Circle and who has surveillance cameras can review the footage from 6-6:30 p.m. Saturday and let them know of any suspicious activity.A police officer flagged down by a neighbor who saw the woman bleeding from her gunshot wounds performed CPR. Riders on the Regional Transportation District’s southeast light-rail lines will face service disruptions, including less-frequent trains, for about six months as the transit agency performs retaining wall maintenance work.Starting Monday, E-Line trains are running with normal 15-minute frequency for most of the day between Union Station and Southmoor, but service has been cut to every 30 minutes between Southmoor and RidgeGate Parkway in Lone Tree. Two-Vehicle Collision in Porterville Leads to Arrest of 32-Year-Old ManPORTERVILLE, CA (April 3, 2023) – Tuesday evening, police arrested Juan Gonzalez Cervantes following a DUI collision near Leggett Street.Officers responded to the collision around 7:45 p.m. at the 100 block of South Leggett Street.Upon arrival, authorities discovered a motorist suffering from serious injuries. Man Pronounced Dead after Multi-Vehicle Accident near Beach BoulevardBUENA PARK, CA (April 3, 2023) – Monday night, Alex Shilvock was hurt and a man was killed in a multi-car collision on 5 Freeway.The incident happened just before 11:00 p.m., on the southbound lanes of the freeway just south of Beach Boulevard on March 27th.Per reports, Shilvock was driving a white Toyota Matrix when he rear-ended a black Honda.
