If we could get together with the County, Coalhurst, one or all, and maybe do our own police service. FESTUS, Mo. - A Missouri woman and animal dealer has been ordered to pay hundreds of thousands to PETA in a lawsuit over the faked death of a movie-star chimpanzee. Tonia Haddix claimed the chimpanzee had died when she really had it locked in her basement. National nonprofit PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) previously filed a lawsuit claiming that Tonka and other chimpanzees were not getting proper care through Haddix and living in unsafe conditions.A federal court ordered Haddix to pay more than $220,000 in attorneys’ fees and costs to PETA to end the lawsuit, accusing Haddix and her husband repeatedly committed perjury and submitted false information to federal courts. BRECKENRIDGE HILLS, Mo. -- The Major Case Squad is searching for a suspect after a man was shot and killed at a business along St. Charles Rock Road Friday. They believe that this was not a random act of violence and that the victim was targeted. He has been identified as Chuckie White, 54, of St. Ann.Officers were called to the 9800 block of St. Charles Rock Road Friday at around 8:20 p.m. for a report of shots fired. They found White's body in a parking lot with several gunshot wounds. NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Nashville police released body camera video Tuesday showing the moments officers confronted an active shooter at The Covenant School. The shooter killed six people before being taken down by officers. The video, which is graphic, shows officers arrive on scene and speak to a staff member outside before rushing into the building. The school was on lockdown and alarms can be heard blaring as the team of officers makes their way toward the shooter on the second floor. As they approach the shooter's location, officers can be seen firing shots. Two officers of the five-member team fatally shot the suspect, the department said. Those officers have been identified as Rex Englebert, a four-year Metro Nashville Police Department veteran, and Michael Collazo, a nine-year department veteran.Footage from both their body cameras was made available. After six years, Comal Heritage Food Incubator is closing up shop in the Taxi mixed-used development in the River North Art District. A San Diego man is dead and two other people are injured after a driver crashed into the occupants of two vehicles who had stopped after a previous collision in Buena Park Monday night.The deceased, identified only as a 33-year-old man, was a passenger in one of the two vehicles that had stopped in the No. 2 lane of the southbound 5 Freeway near Beach Boulevard just before 11 p.m., the California Highway Patrol said in a press release. About a minute after the first crash, a third vehicle hit the two stopped vehicles, both drivers and the passenger, leaving the passenger dead at the scene, officials said. "Both drivers from the first crash were transported to the hospital with minor to major injuries sustained in the second crash," the CHP said.
