SYDNEY (AP) — Super maxi LawConnect was the first out of the harbor in a close and dramatic start to the annual Sydney to Hobart yacht race on Tuesday.Rival 100-foot yachts SHK Scallywag and defending champion Andoo Comanche followed in that order as light winds made for a challenging start to the race. LawConnect has been runner-up in the last three Sydney to Hobart races.Comanche flew a protest flag from the start, accusing Scallywag of tacking too close to her as the yachts made their way out of the harbor and through Sydney Heads. If Comanche follows through with the protest and it is successful, Scallywag will need to complete a 720-degree penalty turn or risk being disqualified from a line honors win on arrival in Hobart.The fleet of more than 100 yachts will sail down the New South Wales state south coast and across the often treacherous Bass Strait to the island state of Tasmania. Man arrested for attempted murder of 60-year-old

DENVER (KDVR) -- A man was arrested and accused of attempted murder in a case that prompted a shelter-in-place notification last week near Portico Lane in unincorporated Boulder County.According to a release from the Boulder County Sheriff's Office, a 911 caller asked for medical assistance shortly after midnight on Dec. 19. Blizzard, high wind warnings in Eastern Colorado When first responders arrived, BCSO said they found a 60-year-old victim who had sustained blunt force trauma injuries in an apparent attempted murder.The man was taken to a local hospital in an ambulance and then was flown to a Level 1 Trauma Center for further medical care with life-threatening injuries.BCSO said the suspect, identified as Michael Joseph Lucky, 32, was quickly identified and a search began. Jason Smiley and his family saw all that snow as they traveled back down from Estes Park to Parker, but all the powder made driving conditions a little dicey on US Highway 36.
