Former CVPA student reaches out to mother dealing with unimaginable loss

ST. LOUIS - It's been one year since the tragic shooting at Central Visual and Performing Arts High School. Classes were canceled there, so students could focus on healing. FOX 2's Laura Simon met with a spokesperson for the mother of one of the victims to learn how she's been dealing with this unimaginable loss.Most people in the St. Louis community will never forget Oct. 24, 2022. Fatal Multi-Vehicle Collision Near Cutting Boulevard Left Three InjuredRICHMOND, CA (October 24, 2023) – Early Sunday morning, Armando G Modales Jr. was fatally injured following a chain-reaction collision on Interstate 80.CHP officers responded to the incident around 5:55 a.m. along the eastbound lanes of the freeway, near Cutting Boulevard.Upon arrival, they discovered at least six vehicles in the wreckage. Investigators claimed that a green 2015 Mitsubishi box truck failed to stop while traveling at unsafe speeds under the roadway conditions.As a result, the box truck collided with a Toyota Sienna and ended up causing a chain reaction involving several other vehicles.Tragically, the Sienna driver, 47-year-old Armando G Modales Jr. from San Pablo, suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. What’s better than exploring a renowned Bay Area garden’s sprawling collection of cactus and succulents? (KRON) -- A 16-year-old who was shot and killed at a house party in Oakley Saturday night has been identified, according to Contra Costa County Coroner's Office. The Oakley Police Department is investigating the shooting and homicide that occurred on Oct. 21 in the 400 block of Shannon Way. The incident resulted in four people being shot, one fatally. The deceased victim has been identified as 16-year-old Ke'Marion Tucker from Brentwood, according to the coroner's office. One gunshot victim was a 17-year-old girl who had been released from the hospital.
