VERNON, Ill. – A former Illinois state trooper who killed two Collinsville sisters due to reckless driving in November 2007 is still trying to regain his driving privileges some 16 years after the fatal collision.An Illinois State Police cruiser struck Jessica and Kelli Uhl head-on as they were traveling back from a family photo shoot on Interstate 64 near Highway 158 on Nov. 23, 2007. The girls died at the scene. Jessica was 18; Kelli was 13. COLUMBIA, Mo. - The United States Postal Service will consider moving some mail operations from mid-Missouri to St. Louis as part of a long-term plan for modernization. USPS is currently conducting a mail processing facility review of processing operations at its Columbia Processing and Distribution Center. Heavily armed police officers responded to a neighborhood in Montebello Tuesday afternoon after a shooting took place that apparently involved an officer.The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department confirmed to KTLA that a shooting occurred in the city and deputies were assisting the Montebello Police Department with the response.Video from Sky5 showed more than a dozen officers in a residential neighborhood, with roads blocked to traffic and an armored vehicle at the scene. 2 Killed, 1 Injured in Pedestrian Collision near 3rd StreetHANFORD, CA (October 31, 2023) – Maria Suarez and Jaylee Castro died Friday night in a pedestrian crash on Phillips Street.First responders arrived to the scene around 7:00 p.m., near 3rd Street.For reasons under investigation, the driver of an eastbound vehicle struck multiple pedestrians who were crossing from south to north.Paramedics took the three injured victims to a nearby hospital where two of them later died.
