CHICAGO — Once again, a Chicago museum is giving fans of one of the most popular adult beverages the chance to learn some history about the drink. The Chicago Brewseum is hosting its fifth annual Beer Culture Summit from Wednesday through Saturday, with events taking place both at the Chicago History Museum, 1601 North Clark Street, and virtually over Zoom. Operating with the same mantra as the Brewseum itself, that beer is more than a beverage, the summit offers attendees the opportunity to learn about its history while also discovering its impact on society. "It's really about sharing stories about how beer has shaped humanity past and present," said Chicago Breseum executive director Liz Garibay to WGN News Now about the Beer Culture Summit. Beer is no different, so when our organization started - and really the summit is really a reflection of our organization - it's really focuses on sharing stories that...Fan of the snooze button? (The Hill) -- Those hoping to gain a few extra minutes of sleep by hitting the snooze button should have no reason to halt their habits, according to new research.New research conducted at Stockholm University discovered that the popular habit of hitting snooze on a morning alarm does not have negative effects on a person’s health or sleep patterns. The findings, published Wednesday in the Journal of Sleep Research, found that 30 minutes of snoozing does not have any “clear effects” on the cortisol awakening response, morning sleepiness, mood or overnight sleep architecture.“The findings indicate that there is no reason to stop snoozing in the morning if you enjoy it, at least not for snooze times around 30 minutes. In fact, it may even help those with morning drowsiness to be slightly more awake once they get up,” corresponding author Tina Sundelin, Ph.D., of Stockholm University said in a statement. Kirill Kaprizov’s sense of the way he has started his four NHL seasons is a little bit askew. After scoring his first goal of the season on Tuesday, a power play goal in the Wild’s 5-2 victory at Montreal, the young left wing was asked how it felt to put one in the net.“Usually it’s longer, every year,” he said. “This year, three games.”The reality is, Kaprizov has never had that much trouble starting what head coach Dean Evason called his “very gifted engine.” He scored in his first NHL game in January 2021, and last season scored eight goals and 13 points in his first 10 games on the way to 40-35–75 in 67 games.Remarkably, Kaprizov went without a goal in his first eight games of the season in 2021-22, the year he set a franchise record with 47 points and 108 points. Apparently, when you’re so accustomed to scoring goals, that tends to be the start you remember.Still, Kaprizov’s game at Bell Centre was a welcome one for player and team.
