Today, a Moraga couple are sharing the experience of a lifetime in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest of Uganda.Wish You Were HereUGANDA: Moraga residents Nancy Moser and Steve Sears spent two weeks in Uganda in March on an adventure that included a visit to the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, pictured. “We went to see the mountain gorillas and chimpanzees but came home with so much more,” Nancy says. “The Uganda people are warm, friendly and excited to share their culture with others. MOJAVE, Calif. (AP) — Four people were slain late Sunday in the Kern County community of Mojave, the sheriff’s office said.Deputies responding to a report of a shooting at 11:20 p.m. in a cluster of homes west of Highway 14 found the four “suffering from traumatic assault injuries,” the Kern County Sheriff’s Office said in a brief press release. NEW YORK (AP) — A New York City police officer who spent more than three decades in a vegetative state after being shot in the head during a botched robbery has died, officials said.Detective Troy Patterson, who was off duty when he was shot on Jan. 16, 1990, died Saturday, Detectives Endowment Association President Paul DiGiacomo said Monday.Patterson was washing his car on a street in Brooklyn when he was approached by three young men who demanded $20, police said. Lordstown Motors warned Monday that it is in danger of failing as the electronics company Foxconn wavers on a $170 million investment in the commercial electric vehicle startup.The Ohio company said in a regulatory filing on Monday that Foxconn it had received notice from Foxconn on April 21 that it was in breach of their agreement because it had received a delisting warning from Nasdaq two days earlier. “As a result of these uncertainties, there is substantial doubt regarding our ability to continue as a going concern,” the company wrote. Lordstown is in danger of being delisted from the Nasdaq because it’s share price closed below $1 on March 7 and it has not recovered since. The Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) has announced that tentative agreements have been reached for over 120,000 Treasury Board workers who had been on strike all throughout last week. Members of the PA, SV, TC and EB bargaining groups were set to return to work Monday, with only workers at Canada Revenue Agency remaining on strike. PSAC says the wage increases secured are above the recommendations of the Public Interest Commission as well as those negotiated by other federal bargaining agents, with national president Chris Aylward saying they made important gains for members. “During a period of record-high inflation and soaring corporate profits, workers were told to accept less – but our members came together and fought for better,” said Aylward. “This agreement delivers important gains for our members that will set the bar for all workers in Canada.”Workers will receive wage increases totaling 12.6% compounded over the four year agreement, retroact...Latest news
