DENVER (KDVR) — When most people think about seats for a sporting event or concert, they are typically looking for the best bang for their buck. For one group, finding seats that accommodate them while they are having fun can be a struggle.A group of advocates wants to make sure large venues in Colorado have seats that are free of drugs and alcohol while they navigate sobriety. Police swarmed Miami Northwestern Senior High School following several fights at the school and an unrelated off-campus incident.7News cameras captured several police cruisers parked near the campus entrance, Thursday afternoon.According to City of Miami Police, they were called to assist after fights broke out.Officers with Miami-Dade Schools Police told a 7News crew that they needed to stay back because they were still searching for someone.Parents of students were seen outside the school. They shared cellphone video showing a large group of students running and screaming on school grounds. BPS has laid out a thorough explanation of the new transportation contract with controversial incumbent-bidder Transdev — finally providing fuller answers to questions long-raised by watchdog investigators and a skeptical community.“We have put out a contract that requires (Transdev) to put their money where their mouth is,” BPS Transportation Director Daniel Rosengard said. “They have shown us and told us that they are willing to take on that challenge and that they believe they can continue to improve and hit the performance targets that we’ve set.”The contract was awarded to Transdev, the only bidder and BPS’s current transportation provider,  for a five-year term with the option of three one-year extensions at $17.5 million in December.
